Welcome to Harmony Heights Baptist Church

Youth News

Dear Church Family,
As most of you already know, and can probably not believe, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. In just a few short weeks we will be stuffing ourselves with turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. I hope that while we are stuffing ourselves that we take a minute to thank the Lord for His provision and His protection over the past year. I work in retail and our mentality around this time of year is to rush, rush, rush. We want to just survive another Christmas. I am making it a goal this year to stop and enjoy the holiday seasons — to stop and smell the poinsettias if you will. Now the way you do that might be in your prayer time or in a testimony. It doesn’t matter how you do it—it is just important that we do. In 2 Samuel 22:4 it states, “I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” You see He is worthy of our praise and attention. A few years ago I had a friend challenge me to write down the blessings that God has given to me. He said to take a notebook and once a week write down a letter from the alphabet starting with the letter “A” and for that letter write down as many blessings as I can that start with that letter. I did it for a while and found that there were blessings I had never thought of. It made me appreciate the Lord even more than I already did. It also gave me no excuse for being ungrateful. The Lord truly has blessed my family and the least we can do is let Him know. I challenge you all to do the same. Stop for a moment every day and thank the Lord for His blessings. I guarantee you won’t ever run out of material. I praise God for all of you and for Harmony Heights Baptist Church. You have done more for me and my family than you will ever know. Thanks again and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I will be updating our military bulletin board this week. If you have a family member who is currently serving in our armed forces, please bring a picture, their branch of service, where they are serving and a current mailing address. I will post it on the bulletin board so everyone can be praying for them. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks, Geneia Case
